Magazine contents page final draft

Image
On this draft of my contents page, i completely switched up the font as i felt it looks more professional and aesthetically pleasing to the reader. I started off with changing the colour of the page numbers, as i felt the mostly blue main image was clashing with blue page numbers as well, so red splits this up well and also matches my genre/target audience. Also, i changed the name of the artist (Florence + the machine) from being towards the top left hand side just written out in the same font as before, to the Florence + the machine logo included into the clothing of the main image, so the reader knows exactly who it is, which i feel gives a much more professional look overall to this page. I also switched up the style and actual information of the specific pages, as i feel that the 2nd draft had too much information, but this time i have found a good in between, to entice the reader into wanting to read each individual page mentioned as they all have a catchy and interesting s...

Magazine Contents page 2nd draft

On this draft of my contents page, i decided to add a lot more text to the description of each page number and title, because i felt as though the original draft looked abit like a front cover in a way, with a fair amount of blank space not being taken up/used by anything when instead it could be. Although i am more happy with this draft of my contents page, im still not too sure on the overall style of it as i feel there is too much text. Also the colours seem to include a lot of different shades of blue, which i feel may look better if some pieces of text are instead changed to red to match the patriotic design and house style to reflect the UK better. Also, with the font i have used in the first 2 drafts - i think it may look better with a different and more subtle style, so i may experiment with different types aswell.

Magazine DPS page 2nd draft

I kept my first (page) of the double page spread the same, as i wanted the main focus of the article topic to be expressed in a more simple and effective way, rather than lots of information rather than image based, with short quotes etc to help the audience remember. Also on this page, i reduced the size of the logo 'BMM' in the top left hand side corner to match the same font size as my contents page, to create a synergy and make sure it ties in well and doesn't mismatch other pages of my magazine. For my second page of my DPS in my magazine, i decided to completely switch up the whole overall house style and format of the page, because with my first draft i was unhappy with how it all looked, and not very much like a magazine article page/DPS. So i split my page into 3rds in columns, with a main title at the top to easily show the main title/focus of the information. I also reduced the text size of my information/text and the font, because i feel as though it looks more ...

Magazine Contents page 1st draft

For my magazine contents, i used a house style that stayed simple, yet makes the reader want to look further into the magazine - through the image used and colour palette. I used a simple blue, red and black colour palette to create a patriotic theme throughout as the theme is 'Britain'.For my background image, i decided to opt for a negative gradient across the page, going from a very light and warm grey, to a plain and simple white. The reason i chose to do this is because it makes the text and my main image stand out much more and make it a lot more eye catching and intriguing for the reader
