Name + Image ideas

Name ideas - British Music Magazine, BMM. The reason I have thought of these 2 names, is because it fits the purpose and genre of magazine well, and also acts as a fairly catchy masthead that would resonate well with a younger target audience. The reason I thought of abbreviating my original name to ‘BMM’, is because I believe that if its only 3 letters, its much more appealing and simple yet affective, whilst still carrying over the purpose of the magazine.

Coming up with image ideas:

Front cover - I want a central image of a male holding some sort of instrument or musical ‘prop’. This guitar or instrument will be either red or blue, to stand out from the grey background and also stick with the theme of the UK and influencing patriotism. Also, for my background I am going to try and take a picture of some sort of cut-out collage of newspaper pieces that include or connote the UK, as I think this will make my Front cover stand out well compared to others.

Contents - For the contents  page I would like to have a different person than on the Front Cover and DPS, to show the audience that there are other aspects and artists included in this magazine. For this image I would like a person off-centred on the page, and on the left hand side facing towards the right. This is because I will include the Masthead at the top to create a synergy between both pages for the audience, but also once the text is included on this page, the photo will show well what part of the page I want the audience to focus on as its facing towards the text on the page.

DPS - For my Double Page Spread, I would like to have the same subject as included on the Front Cover, because this will be my main article of the magazine, therefore almost the ‘selling point’ of it that will appeal the audience most. So I’ll have multiple images of different artists across the page, depending on what part of the article is being said. Most likely the people in these images will be doing something (like performing or playing and instrument etc).
